We will be posting an overview of the announcements for each week here on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Week 1: Sept 8-Sept 12 Announcements<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student and tutor responsibilities – Paula<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tutors: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Be here every week, on time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Prepare lesson plan every week – please stick to one Stand Out lesson per week for pacing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Assign homework every week using your students workbook. Go over the instructions with her so she know how to complete it at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Communicate absences with us using the absence form on the website<\/a> or email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Students: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Be here every week at your scheduled time (do not make doctor appointments during class time)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Be here on time to hear announcements<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Do your assigned homework<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Communicate with your tutor<\/strong> if you are sick and need to miss class. Your tutor will communicate this with us, so you do not need to.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Attendance, red book, substitute policy – Sr. Jane<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Every tutor and student has an attendance sheet with all class dates. Every class date is listed, so please plan accordingly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. The tutor must fill this out throughout the semester – we will collect attendance sheets at the end of the semester for grant reporting. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. If you miss a class, please try to make it up either here or at a public library. If you need to reschedule a class at the Center, you can see the back of the attendance sheet for all of our class times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. The \u201cRed Book\u201d is for any dates you know you will miss in the future. If you are marking a planned absence, please circle \u201cOUT.\u201d This helps us know that your classroom is available for someone to make up a class. If you want to make up a class at the Center, ask any of us and we will see if there is a room available and get you signed in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. If you are going to miss two or more consecutive classes, and you let us know at least one week prior to the first absence, we can provide a substitute tutor. There is a request form on the website<\/a> under Tutor Resources, or you can email Sr. Jane or let us know in person.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Emergency contact form and photo release – Claire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Tutors, please fill out your emergency contact form and help your student fill hers out as well. We need these back before you leave the building for compliance and safety reasons. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Please note that students should not put their address or place of work on the form anymore. We only need to know city and zip code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. The photo release is included on the form. If you are not comfortable sharing your photo outside of our building, please put an X through this section or write “no.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Claire will be coming to classrooms starting next week taking photos of each student and tutor together.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
